Garden Club Council Announces Scholarship Recipient

Savannah, GA—April 8, 2005—The Garden Club Council of Chatham County—a collection of garden clubs that has been in existence for more than fifty years—annually awards a scholarship to a full-time student at Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU). The Scholarship is available for students pursuing a course of study in subjects relating to botany, horticulture, landscaping, or fine arts at AASU.

This year’s recipient, Jennifer Hagans, is a current theatre major at AASU. Hagans is involved with the theatre department and volunteers to work the box office, usher, and promote the shows that Armstrong Atlantic presents. After she graduates this May, she plans on finding work as an actress through her agents. She is also interested in pursuing a career in teaching young children about the creative arts.
