The 2nd Annual Savannah Engineering Academy Gives High School Students
Great Engineering Opportunities

Savannah, GA—April 19 2005—The Savannah Engineering Academy returns with opportunities for students interested in engineering to work with engineers, do hands-on engineering activities and tour engineering facilities. Rising juniors and seniors who have grades of 80% or better in all mathematics and engineering/technology/science courses are encouraged to participate. This year’s academy is June 13-17and is open to high-achieving students attending private and public schools in Chatham, Effingham, Bryan, and Liberty counties.

During the five-day academy, professionals from major engineering disciplines, including civil, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, environmental, and computer science will conduct hands on activities related to their fields such as well as tour various engineering related locations like Gulfstream Aerospace and JCB Construction Equipment, and other local sites.

"Last years academy was a great success and we are very please to offer it again to the next generation of engineers" said Bill Lovett, chairman of the academy and C.O.O. for Hussey, Gay, Bell & DeYoung Consulting Engineers.

The academy will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the AASU Science Center, located at 11935 Abercorn Street in Savannah. Completed applications must be submitted by May 3, 2005.
