AASU To Celebrate ArmstrongFest 2005

Savannah, GA—March 11, 2005— Armstrong Atlantic State University will hold ArmstrongFest, a week-long homecoming festival for alumni and the Savannah community, March 28-April 3. Live music, athletic events, art shows, and theatrical events make the festival one of the most popular and entertaining events of the year. Most of the events are free and open to the public.

MONDAY, MARCH 28
INVITATIONAL ALUMNI
ART EXHIBITION

March 28-April 7 — Art department graduates return for the annual Invitational Alumni Art Exhibition. Sponsored in part by the AASU College Union Board and the AASU Department of Art, Music & Theatre.

ORGANIZATION QUIZ BOWL
It’s pedal to the mental in this fast and furious competition where those who hesitate are definitely lost (or at least confused). James Byrd will put AASU’s top four organizational teams through three lightning rounds of scholastic gymnastics. Come out to support your favorite group or test your own knowledge against theirs.

ARMSTRONG ATLANTIC!

It’s Armstrong Atlantic’s 70th anniversary, and everyone is invited to the party. HOLA will sponsor a cooking demonstration of "Paella Valenciana" with Chef Juan Manuel Rodriguez y Bustamante.

THE LEGACY OF DUKE ELLINGTON

Randall Reese, AASU associate professor of music, presents a tribute to a great American musician as part of the Robert Ingram Strozier Faculty Lecture Series. Through a series of recordings, Reese will explore Ellington’s impact as composer, performer, bandleader, and mentor.
