Liberty Center Students Earn Academic Recognitions

Savannah, GA—April 27, 2004—Eleven students from the Liberty Center were recently recognized for their outstanding academic performance by Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) and East Georgia College (EGA). The Liberty Center is an outreach educational program for students in Liberty County offered by AASU, EGA, Georgia Southern University, Coastal Georgia Community College, Fort Stewart, and business, civic, and educational leaders in Hinesville and Liberty County.

AASU awarded the Minority Academic Achievement Scholars (MACAS) Awards to the following students: MonaAnn C. Agosto, Jessica A. Alvarado, Ticara N. Bowser, LaShonda L. Daniels, Celestine A. Ingram, Natsha S. Nixon, Dale B. Reeves, Deepa G. Smith, Tara L. Vaughn, and Randy B. Ward. MACAS recipients must have earned a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.99 during one, or both, of the 2003 semesters.

EGA awarded business major Heather Cassidy the Achievement in Business and Economics Award. This award is based on overall academic achievement in all business, economic, and accounting courses.
