Coastal Georgia Writing Project to Hold Fall Conference


Savannah, GA—September 24, 2003—The Coastal Georgia Writing Project’s annual fall conference will be held Friday, November 14. Concurrent workshops will explore effective classroom strategies for integrating reading and writing and improving student literacy across grade levels and content areas. The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Coastal Georgia Center for Continuing Education at 305 Martin Luther King Blvd. All community members are welcome.

Established in 1991, the CGWP at AASU is one of more than 160 local sites for the National Writing Project (NWP) network.
Following the NWP’s teachers-teaching-teachers model, CGWP programs aim to improve student writing in area
classrooms. CGWP professional opportunities include the annual invitational summer institutes for teachers, the Young
Writers’ Program, fall and spring conferences, and contracted school-based inservice programs.
