AASU Offers Learning Vacations for Adult Travelers

Savannah, GA—A refreshing alternative to the standard travel package has been scheduled by Armstrong Atlantic State University for this coming winter and spring. Through a nationwide network of more than 300 institutions of higher education and affiliated retirement groups, AASU now provides quality educational tours that span the globe for adult travelers.

AASU’s learning vacations for adults allow participants to learn first hand about the history, art, culture, and customs of the country visited. Each trip, to seventeen different destinations, is a carefully planned "classroom-in-the-field" experience. On-site lectures, seminars and field experiences provided by faculty escorts and in-country specialists, together with "people-to-people" contact, foster an insight and understanding of foreign cultures not available on more conventional tours and sightseeing excursions.

AASU’s groups average fourteen participants with some groups as small as eight members with never more than twenty, allowing for a close interaction between participants and guides. With groups this size you get individualized attention, have the time to make friends, and create memories of a lifetime.

The Winter 2003 program will include the Antarctic, Australia, Belize, Costa Rica, Egypt, the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador, Italy, Kenya, and Peru. The Spring 2003 programs will be to Belize, Central Europe, China, Costa Rica, Egypt, the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Morocco, Peru, Spain, and Turkey.

These learning vacations for adults range from $2,000 to $5,000 and include meals, first class accommodations, unique learning experiences, and airfare from the tours’ departure cities.

The departure dates for each Learning Vacation are listed in the Professional and Continuing Education Non-Credit Catalog.
