AASU to Host Adults Back to College Session

Savannah, GA--The Office of Adult Academic Services at Armstrong Atlantic State University will host an Adults Back to College (ABC) session on March 23. The session will be held from 10:00 A.M. to noon in AASU's Gamble Hall.

ABC sessions are intended "to help adults realize they can fulfill their dreams of getting a college education," said Deanna Cross, assistant dean of Adult Academic Services. Faculty and admissions counselors will be on hand with specifics about "the various degrees, financial aid, scholarships, and other programs offered at AASU."

Adults who are new to college or are reentry students—men and women whose academic goals were deferred or interrupted for reasons of work, family, or other commitments—are encouraged to attend the session. ABC sessions are held for today’s adult students who are interested in earning a college degree.

Adult Academic Services houses information on degree programs and university services; hosts focus group sessions and workshops; coordinates academic advisement and tutorial services; and provides individual guidance to new and reentry students, both on and off campus. It is open from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Mondays through Thursdays and 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Fridays. During the fall and spring semesters, it is open on Saturdays from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Armstrong Atlantic offers undergraduate degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Health Professions, and the College of Education and graduate degrees from the School of Graduate Studies. Some 5,500 students and more than 240 faculty members are currently a part of the university.
