Radiation Therapy Treatment Planning Lab Open House

Savannah, GA--October 18, 2005--Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) will hold an open house to showcase its new Radiation Therapy Treatment Planning Lab on October 21. The newly acquired cutting-edge radiation therapy equipment will be on display in AASU 's Ashmore Hall, room 146, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

AASU was able to establish a new lab utilizing state-of-the-art treatment planning systems, through a generous donation from the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute (ACI) at Memorial Health University Medical Center. The university received over $450,000 worth of equipment for the creation of the lab, which is identical to those currently used by many of the university's clinical affiliates. These systems provide radiation therapy simulation and treatment planning services for cancer patients throughout southeast Georgia and South Carolina.
